On the 29th of July 2008, Trendfield signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Republic of Niger, Société Nigérienne du Charbon de l’Azawak SA (SNCA) and China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) for the completion of several feasibility studies, including the financing and construction of a Coal Power Plant, Phosphate Production Unit and Cement Plant in the region of Tahou in Republic of Niger. The MoU gives CSCEC five months from date of signing to complete the relevant feasibility studies and assist in obtaining at preferential rates, the finances required for the aforementioned projects. Trendfield previously created Cimenterie de Kao SA (CIMKAO) to managed and control the cement plant. Trendfield will be allowed substantial participation in SNCA and the future companies which will be created to manage and control these three projects.
