Sustainable development

At the center of our development model is Niger. Niger is one on the poorest countries in the world, and is frequently plagued with long periods of droughts, high illiteracy rates, and many other socio economic development obstacles. As in our mission statement, we will strategically partner with companies, agencies and governments to eradicate many of these setbacks to develop the country of Niger and its marginalized communities.

This model gives a general understanding of the mode of operations and structural integration/ interaction of Trendfield model for development. Each entity has its own development programs and in some cases work closely with other partners, but the focal point is Niger. Rather than a piece meal approach of development, a targeted and centralized development scheme by Trendfield and partners will develop communities impacted by our operations to ensure community sustainability.

GET International

GET International Group Limited is subsidiary of Trendfield Holdings Ltd. Its purpose is to oversee Trendfield Social Development projects within the ECOWAS Zone. GET International is currently in negotiations for the development of 2 abattoirs in Niger, One in Zinder and the other in Niamey. Combined they will produce over 100 tons of meat per day at full operation. The MOU for this project was signed in November 2006. GET International Group Ltd was the sole coordinator to the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) for the first China-ECOWAS Trade Forum which took place in Beijing on 23-26 Septmeber 2008.

Société des Mines d'Azelik

The recently formed Société des Mines d'Azelik SA, a company in which Trendfield is a shareholder, has also been active in the development of the community of Teguidda. As part of our development strategy, CNNC (China National Uranium Corporation), ZX JOY INVEST and Trendfield, have embarked on development strategy that will bring to the community.

• Drill several water well
• The possibility of building a 35 kilowatt electrical power plant
• Employment

In 2007, the entire village of Teguidda was involved in the production of over 10000 bricks for the construction of basic mining facilities, as a result of this, the villagers recieved over 1 million CFA for community. The people of Teguidda will also be integrated into the operations of the company, for both labor and management.

Trendfield Lion Habitat

In 2009, Trendfield Energy and Resources took on a project to rehabilitate the lion habitat at the Niamey Zoo as part of their commitment to the citizens of Niger and the local environment.

Trendfield, alongside the Ministry of Animal Resources and the World Mining Foundation, will partner to create the largest lion habitat of its kind in West Africa. Along with rebuilding the entire habitat for all 7 lions, they well able to provided the zoo with much needed veterinary services.

Trendfield also requested the service of a veterinarian , Dr. Pete Black from the St. Louis Zoo examined: 54 animals (22 mammals, 28 birds, 4 reptiles) during the course of his 10 day visit. The priority, however, was the lions, which had not seen a veterinarian in more than 10 years.

The Trendfield Habitat for Lions, at cost of USD$60,000 will open later this year extend the current exhibit to 50 m x 20 m. The project is the first step to creating a zoo that can become a cultural center and a tourist destination for both locals and foreign visitors.
